In Class the other day we viewed a movie called "Cloning" . The movie described the difference between therapeutic cloning and reproductive cloning. Therapeutic cloning is the reviving of old dead cells. For example a rat in the video had lost the use of its hind legs, so scientists took out a healthy cell's DNA from the rats spine and placed into a stem cell that had also had its DNA removed. This stem cell is then placed back into the rat so the cell grows and therefore the rat regained the use of its hind legs. Reproductive Cloning is taking an egg from a species and sicking out that previous species DNA. The species egg is then replaced by another species DNA and placed in a surrogate mother. The egg then grows into a clone. Well That little blurb is done its time to give my opinion on cloning. To me cloning goes against nature, that is cloning by scientist and genetic manipulation through chemicals and what not. Yes, i can agree that saving lives is good but still, there is always consequences to new technology. I think people will abuse the technology and it will cause disaster. Yeah so there is my two cents and a penny for my thoughts.
